I’m Trina and here is my story.

I grew up poor, but I always knew I’d never stay that way.

I was born to a single mom, and a dad who had a drinking and gambling problem. We lived in a mobile home park and never had extra money to spend.

When I was 10 years old I started telling my mom, “I’m going to be somebody when I grow up.” My drive and ambition began taking the forefront of my life. I was curious, determined and dabbling in anything that might help me reach my dreams.

By age 19 I had begun creating business ideas and plans. I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I did know I wanted to be my own boss. I was dead set on becoming a business owner. I let my creativity run wild and continued dabbling in things that I thought could help me reach my dreams.

Making and selling soap, buying a coffee stand, starting a marketing company, selling insurance, and growing and selling flowers and vegetables. These are all things I tried. Before I even knew what a SWOT analysis was, I instinctively ran each idea through the process.

Some of these businesses came to fruition and made a little money. Others didn’t make it off the paper. I came up against many frustrations during my experimenter phase. I learned a lot of lessons with each failure. There were many failures.

Now let’s fast forward to 2015 when my life changed forever.

I was a part time barista, where I worked for minimum wage plus tips. The rest of my time was spent gardening for the purpose of creating a business. I learned all I could and in 2015 I began to see the fruits of my labor. People began asking me to plant flowers for them in their yard and offered to pay me for it. From here my landscape company was created.

As soon as I found the solution that I could solve, which was turning a drab landscape into one of beauty and joy through colorful flowers, I ran with it. The demand was high and I couldn’t believe how much people were willing to pay for this service. I felt like people were just throwing money at me, and for something I loved doing. Jackpot!

From 2015 to current day, I build my small gardening company from flower planting into a complete design, build and install landscape company that also provides maintenance services. Within 8 years the company had grown to $1 million in sales.

Now that I’ve successfully been through the business building process, I have no doubt that I could do it again in half the time. I also have no doubt that I can teach others to also do it in half the time. From this idea, this blog is born.

I want to share my journey and all I’ve learned along the way so that I can help others reach their dreams. I believe this is the way to truly leave a larger impact in the world. I want to help you reach your dreams of being your own boss through business ownership and finding financial freedom along the way so that you can live the life you were meant for.
